About the Nordic Optical Networking Forum
The Nordic Optical Networking Forum (NONF) is a forum with participants from NORDIC NRENs including NORDUnet. The main goal of the forum is to create an arena to bring, share and discuss issues/topics related to optical networking. This could be anything from planning, design and operation issues to topics which touch the future trends and directions in optical networking arena.
By doing this we will be able to use our expertise across national boundaries and help/learn from each other.
The main major activity of the forum is connected to one or two annual, full-day workshops, arranged by the members. In addition, items may be discussed on the forum mailing list or in smaller meetings connected to NORDUnet or NREN conferences.
Logistics
Membership of the NONF is open for staff from Nordic NRENs, but we will invite vendors and other experts to take part in our discussion when it is needed too.

Workshops:
The main forum meetings will be hold as workshops once/twice a year depends on need. We will try to collocate the workshops with NORDUnet events.
Beside the ordinary regular network updates report/presentation from NRENs we will also dedicate each workshop to a certain topic of general interest.
