  • Lightpaths
    • Martin; not so much in use yet (in research/education); no problem to provide material when user cases exist
    • in use for connecting distributed campuses
  • Foodle - federated doodle, already in production

6. InterNREN group charter (Harri Kuusisto)

6.1 Harri presented set of possible tasks for working group
  • discussion
    • sharing marketing material would be good, but joint marketing (like joint brochures) would be hard
      • there are national differences in services and their details
    • Géant planning joint PERT marketing
    • Martin: starting with one good service is more effective than trying to solve all legal (and other) issues on a general level for 'all services'
    • Jorgen: Couldstore could be one piloting application
    • Lars F: finding candidates and especially proposing pilots should be emphasis of the group
    • Tiina: there could be 'home pages for services' on Nordunet web pages - which could then be linked to national services
    • Martin: generating a service map (table) from services available at NRENs is the most important thing
      • need for an editor to compile the list
      • Jorgen: link the descriptions to the actual service descriptions on the web
      • Harri: need for subcategories
      • Jari: categories have been selected in Terena MSP/LCPM (Koen Schelkens from BELNET)
    • Lars: joint Nordic booth at major conferences?
      • Tiina: need for interesting products and participants
    • sharing marketing material and ideas (underway in PR)
    • find candidates for pilots
    • Martin on Legal and contractual issues: after setting a service up, reporting to other group members on how it was done (legally), etc.
    • Lars on Finding candidates: should also propose to CTOs to implement them (at least some)
    • Magnus on Finding candidates: first pilot a service lightly so see if it has potential among users. If it looks promising, then propose it to CTOs and start
      legal- and translation processes.
    • Jorgen on Finding candidates: expand national services to 'Nordunet-shared services'
  • Harri wrote draft to be submitted for next day's CTO meeting:
6.2 Planning
  • Magnus: there should be a presentation about the group at TNC 2011
  • Lars: need for deadlines (milestones and goals) for specific tasks
    • like; the service map shoult exist by the end of Q3/2010
    • the need for todo-tickets

7. Next inter NREN -meeting

  • Meeting in-person important in the setup phases
    • Jorgen: OF meeting in Trondheim in mid-April (12.-13.4 ?) - might be adjoined?
    • Magnus: eCampus doing study tour to JISC conference in March (12.-13.4.)
    • preliminary date for next interNREN-meeting is 14.4.2010 @Trondheim

8. Any other business (AOB)

  • User cases
    • already on PR wiki
  • Best Practises
    • Martin: general 'best practises' compilation is too large to start up with
      • best practises for IPTV, Anti-SPAM etc would be useful
    • Martin: example: how to set up media archive 'best practises' from each - then compare them
      • Jorgen: good way, focused and goal oriented
      • Lars: one service could be on the agenda for each meeting
  • Plagiarism detection
    • Martin:
      • compares text to previous texts and internet resources
      • would it be a good idea to purchase software jointly instead of every university acquiring one?
  • Suggestions for potential services

    • Cloudstore
    • Anti-SPAM
