Purpose
This one day workshop will apprise senior management with high level concepts and deployment issues associated with dynamic hybrid networks.
As the global R&E community embraces the hybrid ciruit+packet networking paradigm, organizations such as NORDUnet will need to consider how these new capabilities will impact the infrastructure, business models, user community, and collaborative relationships going forward. This one day workshop is intended to open this discussion within the NORDUnet management community to learn more about the basic technologies involved, current state of the art, open issues at different levels (campus, regional/national, and international), impacts these services are expected to have on users and applications, engineering and operations, and business models and policy over the next several years.
The outcome of this workshop is intended to be a strong strategic foundation and consensus for moving NORDUnet into an internationally recognized leadership position in these important emerging technologies. This workshop will be followed by a series of technical workshops that will train network operations and engineering personnel within the Nordic R&E community in emerging models and tools for architecting, engineering, implementing and operational management of dynamic hybrid network infrastructure.
